Happy Monday, Charlie Mae!

This week should feel fairly short! Early release today, then no school on Friday, so, that’s pretty rad. I know it’s a little harder at Mom’s, but, please try to stay on top of any homework that you get, since the WiFi shouldn’t be an issue anymore. If you need help with any of your homework, please let me know, even if we have to do it over FaceTime, I’m more than happy to help. :)

Don’t forget that you’re running the jog-a-thon on Tuesday. I’ll post the form this afternoon, and see if we can get you any pledges. Pledges are a certain amount of money per lap, and I know you’ll try to push yourself to do more than anyone else, but, please don’t overdo it. :)

Let me know if you’re interested at all in the polls templates I’d mentioned last week. You never mentioned it, so I just assumed you lost interest, but, maybe you just forgot. Maybe it’s something you could post once per week, so it doesn’t get old, and to give you time to get it put together.

Lastly, since both A Sola Story, and Roundtable sorta fell apart, Thea and I are planning to start a new podcast between the two of us. Would you want to do one with me, too? We can sit down and brainstorm some ideas, if you want, but, I’ll understand if you’re not into the idea. The one Thea and I are going to do together, is going to just be media reviews and discussion. Like, for example, we’ll watch a movie together, or read a book together, hen talk about it. I think you have the room to be much more creative than that, so, think about it, and let me know what you think.

I miss you all lots already, but, hope your week is off to a fantastic start!

Love you trillions,

-Dad

Good Morning, Char!

You didn’t have a ton to say after Oaks Park yesterday, so I’m guessing you were pretty wiped out afterward. I’m really sorry you two got downpoured on, and that you couldn’t find Mom to come get you. I’m glad that I finally found her asleep by calling Thea, though, a tiny part of me wishes I’d just come to get you, without going through the trouble to make sure she woke up. I hope you and Mallory both had fun, regardless, and that you weren’t too cold after it rained.

I’m so excited today’s the day you’re coming home! Just a few short hours, and you’ll all be back. :) Please use the checklist I asked you to make before you left, so you don’t forget anything! Clothes, any school stuff, devices, cosmetics, chargers, etc., try not to forget anything, because you know how hard it is to try to get it back mid-week. ;)

I made playlists for all of the songs that I added in your posts, and am adding the links below. There’s one with just your songs, and one with all of your’alls songs. ;)

I can’t wait to see you later today, I’ve missed you a ton, and love you so much!

Hey Charlie Mae!

Today’s the big day! I hope that everything works out, and that you and Mallory have so, so much fun at Oaks Park. If anything goes wrong, and you need me for anything like a ride, etc., let me know, if you can. I know you have mixed feelings about Mallory’s family paying your way, so, maybe as soon as the park opens up again for Spring, we can take Mallory, and it’ll be our treat. I know that’s several months away, but, it may help you feel a little better about the situation in the meantime. ;)

Polls Example Template

I was thinking about the polls you were doing, and thought of something cool, for if you decide to keep doing them… There are a bunch of apps, that you can use, to create animated stories. The stories animate, and although I can’t add a video here, I can show you what it looks like when you get home, and added a screenshot to the left. Most of them have a lot of templates, and are pretty cool. I just made a silly one, based off of some of the memes you’d sent me, so you can see how they’d look. You can animate how the images appear, what the text does, how the background looks, etc. It’s pretty neat, and I feel like it’d be a fun way for you to get creative, and have fun at the same time. :)

I can’t wait to see you tomorrow! Check in the morning for your last post for the week! Love you more than there are leaves on the trees,

-Dad

Morning Char!

It’s Friday! Last day of the school week. I hope it was a good, and that you’re having fun. :)

I was a little disappointed to receive an e-mail from Mrs. Hammack yesterday, regarding STEM class. After we went to speak to her, and you’d said that you wanted to switch into her class, from TA, she went to a lot of trouble to pull strings, and make sure it could work out for you. After she’d already done the legwork, she found out from your counselor that you’d “changed your mind”. So, I want to be clear on two things, here. First, I’m disappointed that you’re choosing an empty elective that only awards pass/fail credit, over something where you’d learn a lot, and would lead to more advanced, more interesting courses. I also need you to understand that I know what it’s like to be 13. So, while it’s not the choice I’d have made for you, I understand why you made it, and while mildly disappointed, am not upset with your choice. What I am mildly frustrated with, though, is that you didn’t speak up while we were there, and admit that you weren’t interested at the time, instead of letting a teacher go to a bunch of extra trouble, to find out afterward, that it was for nothing. I want you to remember that you have a say, you have a voice, and your feelings are important. You should be confident making the choices that make you happy (which you ultimately did), and not be afraid to say “hey, this isn’t waht i feel is best for me”. So, all of that said, I understand, and I’m not going to force the class or the issue, but, next time, let’s speak up about how you’re feeling, okay? She did want me to make sure you know that we can still make the same switch at the trimester, if you change your mind again. In the meantime, I’ll explain the situation to her, so that she understands why you didn’t want to make the switch afterall. :)

annnnnnyway. Do you have any awesome plans for Saturday? I was hoping that since Mallory lives near Mom’s place, maybe the two of you might set something up to be able to hang out? Her house is less than 10 minutes from Mom’s, and I’m sure there’s probably something fun you could set up somewhere in between? Or, maybe you could just have a sleepover, or something?

I looked around a little more for a cool show we could watch, with Criminal Minds not coming back for awhile, and found two. We can check them out when you get home, and see what you think. one’s called Evil, and looks really cool, and the other is the newest season of American Horror Story, which is set like an 80s horror movie. I’m sure we can agree on one of them. ;)

I hope you have an awesome Friday, and I’ll have a new message waiting for you tomorrow, when you wake up. I miss you so, so very much.

Love,

-Dad

Good morning, Sugar!

I never got a call from the school yesterday, so I’m guessing you were there, and are feeling better! I’m really glad to hear that, and that it wasn’t anything serious. Sometimes it’s hard to gauge how sick we feel, because nine times out of ten, we feel the worst when we wake up in the morning. Either way, I’m just glad you’re feeling better. :)

I have three pieces of news that will be of interest to you, two bad, and one good, but all related to the same thing. I’ll share the good news, first. Did you know there’s a Criminal Minds iPhone game?? It looks pretty cool, and it’s free. You can grab it, here. The bad, related news, is that This coming season of Criminal Minds will be the last. Even worse, is that I was wrong, and it won’t come back until 2020! I’m sorry, I know how much you love it, so, maybe we’ll have to find you a new show. There’s one that just started that kinda reminds me of Glee, called Perfect Harmony. Here’s a trailer, to see if you want me grab a copy from iTunes. :)

Anyway, I really, really miss you, and can’t wait to see you on Sunday! I hope you’re having a really awesome week, and having fun. I don’t know if you remember today’s song of the day, from the New Jersey era, but you used to really like it when I’d play it in the car.

I love you,

-Dad

Hey Charlie!

I hope you’re having a good week. the attendance office at Mac called me yesterday, and said that you missed school, and I got an e-mail later on from Mom, that said you’re sick. I really hope you’re feeling better, and that it’s nothing serious. I know that you’d said you didn’t want to miss a single day this year, but, sometimes it happens, and when you’re sick, sometimes it’s best to just stay home and rest up, to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. ;)

We haven’t been able to talk at all this week, but I don’t want to wait to get your therapist appointments set up, so I’m going to give Brett a call back, and make sure we get those up and running. Like I said above, taking care of ourselves is always most important. I felt like the intake appointment went really well, so, I feel like the appointments will, too. Once it’s up and running, if you have any concerns, or want to talk about it, we will. <3

If I know you as well as I think I do (I do), I’d bet that you’ve already messaged your classmates, or checked Canvas to make sure you have any missing assignments, so I won’t bother reminding you, since I’m sure you’re way ahead of me. :)

The polls you did on Instagram last night were really fun and creative! I hope you do more of them, as it seemed like you had a lot of fun with it. Let me know if you want any ideas, since I’m a total genius, lol. You could do themes once a week, or something.

I hope you’re feeling better today, and if you’re going back to school, I hope you have an amazing day! i love and miss you so, so much!

Love,

-Dad

Hey kiddo!

I found out that your phones were taken last night, because I’d messaged you. I’m really sorry, that’s not what should be happening, and I’ll work toward getting the issue taken care of. In the meantime, I won’t message you through text or Discord, as I don’t want you to get in trouble for it. Just know that there is nothing wrong about us communicating, despite what anyone says. You’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to, by messaging me.

I e-mailed Hammack, and she’s going to look at switching 7th period, so you’ll get that STEM class, which will be SO much less boring than the TA jam. I hope it works out so that your days are as good as they can be. :) Just because it’s school, doesn’t mean it can’t still be fun, right? Thirteen is a hard age to enjoy school during, and I know that, but, you’re doing an awesome job as always, and I’m really proud of all of the effort you’ve made to stay on top of schoolwork, and homework. I know it’s not always easy, but you sure do a good job of making it look like it. <3

I miss you an awful lot, and love you 3.6 trillion.
